Riarma Quarter Horse Stud set the gold standard for Quarter Horse breeding in New Zealand for over 20 years. Riarma Stud has a 'LEGACY OF BREEDING EXCELLENCE'.
Riarma Stud is located at Onawe Farm - between the stunning Barrys Bay and Duvauchelle Bay and in the middle is Onawe Peninsula, Akaroa, NZ. Riarma Stud is easily identified by the striking entrance of luxurious horse head gates, which often capture the attention of tourists visiting the village. The stud is surrounded by beautiful native trees, birds and breath taking views of the Onawe Peninsula, bisecting the head of Akaroa Harbour, while being located on prized sacred Maori land. Some of the local walks actually request hikers refrain from eating while on the sacred land due to its 'tapu' status.

Until recently, Riarma Quarter Horse Stud was standing the beautiful Quarter Horse stallions: Just Inviting Jack Back (imp USA), Addicting and Oh Goody He's Lazy - Riarma Stud also owned "Riarma's The Last Straw" who was competing in Australia in recently - Lyn still has an interest in this beautiful son of Iron Age "RIARMA'S THE LAST STRAW" - however he is now standing with Mitana Quarter Horse Stud in Dunedin.
Mitana's owner, Koriana Osborne, came to purchase a horse from Riarma Stud earlier this year and ended up leaving with most of the Quarter Horses left at Riarma Stud! Lyn had been quietly looking for the best person to continue on with the top performing imported bloodlines she had so carefully cultivated for the New Zealand Sport Horse and Western Riders of New Zealand...and Koriana, with her desire to 'breed the best' made Mitana the obvious choice. Riarma Stud would like to wish Mitana Quarter Horse Stud every success and encourages anyone looking for a new top quality Quarter Horse to get in touch with Mitana Quarter Horse Stud.
Despite Lyn slowly removing herself from professional breeding, she still has a couple of foals left for sale and these will be listed on our website from time to time.
