FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the waiting time on a puppy?
It would depend where you are on the waiting list and current waiting times could be up to and around 6-12 months.
If there is a bitch you are specifically wanting a puppy from, this could extend the wait time further, as we only have limited litters from each of our girls.

How much is a puppy?
Puppies are $5000 and once you are on our waiting list a $500 deposit is required to secure your future puppy.

Why are puppies so expensive?
Wagon Tails has invested well over $100,000 to import this breed to New Zealand from the USA. The process to import these dogs and the extensive waiting times after vaccines means they remain in paid boarding facilities for a further 4-6-10 months. Covid19 has extended some of the dogs arrival and further increased the costs and time-frames.
Each Wagon Tails Bitch or Dog has also been screened by PAWPRINTS GENETICS before being purchased.

This process ensures our dogs are cleared of many of the hereditary genetic abnormalities in many dog breeds and also significantly reduces the risks of purchasing a dog with any debilitating health defects.
Very few breeders use this service, however Wagon Tails believes it is absolutely essential to maintain the highest standards of animal welfare in breeding in New Zealand, while giving peace of mind to families purchasing our puppies.

One further reason, is to ensure Wagon Tails puppies are in excellent homes. It was a long held dream of Lyn and Kerry's to bring this breed to New Zealand and a significant amount of hard work.
Wagon Tails are committed to ensuring our puppies are well provided for. We ask that people do their own research and when you contact us, it is because you are ready to make the lifetime commitment to your puppy while appreciating the high standards Lyn and Kerry have set for this breed in New Zealand.

What is the difference between a Toy and a Miniature?
Quite simply the difference is size. The Toy is smaller than the Miniature and Wagon Tails are breeding both the Toys and the Mini's.
